the domination of communism in the world

Economic utopia in practice

The change of the current economic system was expressed by the introduction of "war
communism". It was a practical attempt to put into practice the utopian vision of economic
relations contained in Marx and Engels' theories - the nationalisation of industry, the
monopolisation of production, the restriction of free trade opportunities in favour of state
distribution and the introduction of a system of central planning. This brought a complete
disaster to exhausted Russia and a deepening of the economic collapse to such an extent that
the possibility of exporting the revolution beyond the country's borders was called into
question. Therefore, Lenin decided to correct his policy by implementing the New Economic
Policy (NEP), which combines the features of a socialist and capitalist economy. Only then
has it been possible to stabilise the Russian economy a little, and even to stimulate it a little.
